The second edition of El Alamein International Airshow will take place from 8–10 September 2026, bringing together organisations and decision-makers from aviation, aerospace, defence, commercial aviation and space.
Egypt has officially announced the second edition of El Alamein International Airshow 2026, following an international press conference attended by senior government, military, aviation and aerospace representatives.
The event will be held at El Alamein International Airport from 8–10 September 2026, while the Aerospace Future Technology Symposium will open the programme one day earlier, on 7 September.
The announcement marks the formal beginning of preparations for an event intended to strengthen Egypt’s position within the regional and international aviation, aerospace and defence industries.
Senior aviation and aerospace leaders attend the announcement
The press conference was attended by Lieutenant General Amr Sakr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force; Dr Sameh El Hefny, Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation; Dr Maged Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency; and Major General Mohamed Adly, Chief of the Egyptian Armament Authority.
The gathering also included ministers, senior members of the Egyptian Armed Forces, accredited military attachés and representatives of international aerospace companies.
During the announcement, Lieutenant General Amr Sakr highlighted Egypt’s preparations to host the second edition of the airshow and its ambition to bring together organisations operating across military aviation, commercial aviation, aircraft manufacturing, navigation, aerospace technology and space.
The event is expected to provide opportunities for international cooperation while supporting partnerships between Egypt and organisations from across the global aerospace community.
A platform for aviation, defence and space
El Alamein International Airshow 2026 will be organised around three principal exhibition sectors:
Aerospace, including aircraft manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, repair and overhaul, avionics, advanced air mobility and the wider aerospace supply chain.
Commercial aviation, covering airlines, airports, aviation infrastructure, operational technologies, passenger experience and aviation services.
Space, including satellite technologies, Earth observation, communications, navigation systems, launch capabilities and commercial space innovation.
The exhibition will be accompanied by business meetings, international participation and flying displays featuring military and civilian aircraft.
According to the official event materials, the flying programme is expected to include international aerobatic teams and aviation demonstrations alongside static aircraft displays at El Alamein International Airport.
Aerospace Future Technology Symposium
The Aerospace Future Technology Symposium will take place on 7 September 2026, immediately before the airshow opens.
The symposium is designed as a high-level forum for military leaders, government representatives, civil aviation authorities, space agencies and aerospace executives.
Its programme will explore issues including artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, future airpower, civil-military integration, advanced manufacturing, space capability and international aerospace cooperation.
Lockheed Martin has been announced as the headline sponsor of the symposium. The opening programme is also expected to include a keynote address from Lieutenant General Amr Sakr focusing on airpower, regional security and future capability development.
Building on the first edition
The inaugural edition of El Alamein International Airshow was held in 2024 and welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, over 200 exhibitors and participants from more than 80 countries, according to the organiser.
The second edition aims to build on that foundation by expanding international participation and creating a broader platform for investment, technology, industry dialogue and cooperation.
With its combination of exhibition activity, flying displays and strategic discussions, EIAS 2026 is positioning itself as an important meeting point for organisations operating across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the wider international aerospace industry.
