Marking the 48th UAE National Day and the Year of Tolerance, 145 nationalities came together to set Guinness World Record on Emirates flight EK2019.

The flight included passengers from different backgrounds, ethnicity, religion and cultures all dressed up in their traditional clothes- honoring their different heritages.

The flight left Dubai International Airport and headed for Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain heading east through Ras Al Khaimah and on wings to Fujairah then to Al Ain and Abu Dhabi before landing in Dubai.

Flight EK2019 was commanded by UAE National Captain Abbas Shaban, Captain Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum and First Officer Karin Arning from Paraguay.

The crew of 22 people from 18 different countries flew for about an hour and a half at an altitude of 7,000 feet.

Just before descent, an official adjudicator from the Guinness World Records, who was on-board verifying nationality counts- officially announced that the flight was a new Guinness World Record title for most nationalities on an aircraft (145 nationalities).
